The G7 Demonstration in Munich, Germany on June 25, 2022.

Greenpeace had a large presence at the G7 Demo in Munich, during the march they held a large banner that read "G7: Exit fossil enter Peace." As the G7 begin their annual meeting, this time at Schloss Elmau in the Bavarian Alps, thousands of protesters gathered in Munich at Theriesenweise on June 25, 2022 to make demands.

The demonstration was put on by various organizations and focused on highlighting the need of G7 countries to focus on issues of climate change, such as quickly moving away from oil and gas and investing more in clean energy, and social justice causes.

The G7’s annual meeting last year was dominated by COVID-19, this year’s meeting looks very different. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has exacerbated existing issues surround food and oil prices and supplies, masses of refugees, and shifting spending priorities towards military defense mostly in support of Ukraine. Although the war in Ukraine was surprisingly not a main focus at this demonstration.
